A merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc blend from a small producer in Bordeaux, Chateau Haut-Bicou displays lovely earthy hints of portobello mushrooms, tobacco, and dusty black cherry, along with anise, tar, and cherry tart. Bordeaux teems with family wineries lovingly producing an excellent agricultural product without the big names of the $1000 per bottle top growths. Do yourself a favor and try some of these unknown and highly affordable bottles. (Jenny)
