Austria’s very own varietal, zweigelt, is a hybrid red grape created by viticulturalist Dr. Zweigelt in the 1920’s by crossing St. Laurent with Blaufrankisch. This delicious medium-bodied, spicy red has become the signature red wine of Austria. Winemaker Erich Sattler represents the fourth generation of his family estate located southeast of Vienna. Fantastic purity and freshness is on display in this wine thanks to organic farming, strictly reduced yields and stainless steel tanks for both fermentation and aging.
